Dr. Ahmed M. Nassar, M.D., M.S.Ahmed M. Nassar, M.D., M.S.
Anterior Segment/Cataract, Refractive Surgeon

Dr. Nassar is originally from Nova Scotia, Canada. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree with honors from Acadia University. He went on to the State University of New York School of Optometry to complete a Masters of Vision Science degree. He then went to Meharry Medical College where he received his Doctor of Medicine degree and graduated on the dean’s list with clinical honors in 5 rotations.

The following year Dr. Nassar finished his internship at Metro Nashville General Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee, and then went on to Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit where he completed his specialty training in ophthalmology.

He founded Eye Specialists of Georgia in 2004. He was appointed to the South Fulton Medical Center Staff in 2004 and has privileges at Atlanta Medical Center. Dr. Nassar performs LASIK in Dunwoody and Stockbridge.

Dr. Nassar is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Medical Association, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.

Dr. Jopseph A.MannoJoseph A. Manno, M.D.
Consulting Physician

Dr. Manno is originally from New York. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Rutgers University and then earned a Masters degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He went on to obtain his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Buffalo School of Medicine.

Dr. Manno served his internship and specialty training in ophthalmology at St. Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center. He was Chief of the Metropolitan Hospital Department of Ophthalmology from 1980 - 1982 and Metropolitan Hospital Chief of Staff from 1990 - 1992.

Dr. Manno is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and has been accepted for membership in the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Georgia Society of Ophthalmology, Medical Association of Atlanta, and the Medical Association of Georgia.

Dr. Dao Nguyen, O.D.Dao Nguyen, O.D.
Clinical Director

Dr. Nguyen is a native of Memphis, Tennessee. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with Honors from Christian Brothers University and then went on to Southern College of Optometry where she received her Doctor of Optometry degree. Following her Doctorate degree, Dr. Nguyen completed a year of residency training in Ocular Disease at Clayton Eye Center.

During her training, she has received many clinical honors and has spent a considerable amount of time volunteering to give back to the community she serves. She started her career as an ophthalmic technician and has not changed her focus which is to provide excellent patient care.

Dr. Nguyen is an active member of the American Optometric Association, the Georgia Optometric Association, and the Greater Atlanta Optometric Association. She is bilingual in English and Vietnamese and is available to see patients in both the Atlanta and Riverdale offices. Dr. Nguyen resides in Atlanta and enjoys outdoor activities.

Dr. Dangerfield is the newest physician to join our family at Eye Specialists of Georgia. She is a native of Birmingham, Alabama. Dr. Dangerfield graduated summa cum laude from Alabama A& M University where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She continued on to the University of Alabama at Birmingham, School of Optometry where she received her Doctor of Optometry degree. As part of her training, Dr. Dangerfield completed internship rotations in the specialty areas of glaucoma, retina, pediatrics, contact lens fitting, dry eye disease, and cataract pre and post operative care. After graduating from optometry school, she completed a residency in Ocular Disease and Primary Care at the Tuscaloosa Veteran Affairs Medical Center.

Dr. Dangerfield has volunteered with Cahaba Valley Healthcare and Remote Access Medical to help provide eye care and glasses to patients in need. She is also a member of Beta Sigma Kappa International Academic Honor Society, American Optometric Association, and Georgia Optometry Association.

Dr. Dangerfield resides in Atlanta and in her free time enjoys trying new restaurants and traveling.
